Fucking ace, Stuck. The illustration look you've given it has really made it into something unique, while still retaining the original "sexiness" of the stock image. The lines also don't clash or overly blend with the background, which can be hard to do in images like this. And, needless to say, I'm a big fan of the black over her eyes.
The background is well textured and echoes a South American vibe to it. Props for the use of the Hindu text because that takes some vision to see that it would work. All in all, bloody good work. Now the only thing left for me to do is give it my +fav stamp of approval!
I tried to achieve a balance between the lines and background - I wanted to include them but didn't want them to dominate the piece, you know? And the black over the eyes, well, it just something that adds mystery and something that I like doing. You'll see that sort of thing later when I submit some more stuff...
I wanted to create an aged semi-wooden feel with the background (without simply using wood textures), and I think it turned out nicely. As for the Hindu, well, that was just an idea that I had and it happened to work - totally stoked on how well that worked. In all honesty though, its really just a quick piece (bout two hours from original stock, to idea, to finished product) and I really just whipped this up until I get my stuff back from uni.
Theres a semi-abstract life painting I did which I'll want to show ya...
And finally, thanks for the fav Killydog. Means a lot.

Don't feel like a jerk, it was only a couple of days. I forgive.
I too like the colours, they turned out pretty well, I think.
Thanks for your thoughts Kiley, I'm glad to hear you like it.

One of Jimi's finest in my opinion. I love that track, and yes, it served as inspiration. If you listen to the song you'll notice it has a very melodic bluesy sound - its very rich. The colours in this work somewhat reflect that, I think... while the model's pose reflects the edgier sounds of 'Voodoo Child (slight return)', which is the sister track for 'Voodoo Chile'...
